Welcome to the Complex Fluids Group

Welcome to our webpage. We are a research group working in the School of Engineering at the University of Manchester. Our research focusses on complex fluids, encompassing many areas of reacting, multi-phase and non-Newtonian flows.

We work across theory, experiment and numerics, in particular:

  • Numerical simulations: We are working both on the development of novel high-fidelity numerical methods for a range of flow types, and also on the use of these (and established) methods to obtain new insights into fundamental physical behaviours. We have a particular focus on complex fluid problems which are challenging for conventional methods, and often require highly accurate or adaptive numerical schemes.
  • Experimental: Characterization and validation of complex flow phenomena.
  • Data-Driven Paradigms: Integrating Machine Learning to accelerate simulations.

Use the links above to find out more about our work.

We are looking for passionate new PhD students, Postdocs, and Master students to join the team (more info) !
